Blog 1861 - Saumya Singh

I drew a chopped off leg, which shows amputations during the Civil War. Amputations in the Civil War were very bloody, and often the amputee bled to death. The splattered blood on the leg and the knife shows the arterial blood that would spew from the stump where the limb was chopped off, and how messy and unsanitary it was. I chose this topic because I think the medical parts of anything are very interesting, and it really puts into perspective the advancements we've made.
